Vehicle Design and Testing

Dr. Ermias Koricho, Assistant Professor, completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (Mechanics) at Polytechnic University of Turin (Politecnico Di Torino) in 2012. He has conducted research in the areas of vehicle lightweight design and crashworthiness, structural optimization, multi-materials joining (reversible adhesives, bolted, hybrid), multi-functional composites, plastic and adhesives materials, applications of nondestructive evaluation techniques, as well as composite manufacturing and repair. Dr. Koricho has research experience in the automotive industry as well as at composite materials and structures research centers. He is the supervisor of the Vehicle Lightweight Structures and Joining (VLSJ) Laboratory.
