Department Hosts Summer Camp for HS Students

The Department of Mechanical Engineering recently hosted two summer camps (one in Statesboro, and one in Savannah) for nearly 40 high school students interested in engineering. The students participated in a variety of hands-on activities including: programming of LEGO robots, CAD design and 3D printing of models, and interaction with a biomechanical experiment. Each of the activities the students participated in emphasized sustainability – a core value of Georgia Southern. Dr. Aniruddha Mitra served as the camp coordinator, Dr. Jinki Kim and Dr. Ria Ramoutar provided mentorship during camp activities., and the i2STEM Institute facilitated student participation.
