IT 4790 – Internship in Information Technology

Course Description

A campus-approved and coordinated IT-experience-based internship. The internship will include at least 280 hours of work.  The student will be required to submit a written report of the work undertaken along with a log and employer evaluations of the student’s work. This course is part of the IT core  required for all IT majors.


Typically students obtain internships as juniors or seniors after completing intermediate level core courses.

Rationale for Inclusion

The internship is a required course that provides an opportunity for the student to apply classroom material to an actual work situation.  This allows the student to explore areas of interest and permits the student to apply knowledge and skills to an actual problem.
