Sack Company – IT Internship

The Sack Company in Statesboro, Georgia is looking for an IT Intern to provide fast and useful technical assistance on computers and mobile devices. The position will be primarily IT Help Desk and Computer Support. In addition to Help Desk and Computer Support, there will be projects, network/systems administration, and more. An excellent Help desk technician must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. They must also be customer-oriented and patient to deal with difficult customers. Customer service is a top priority. Must work individually as well as in a group setting.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance via phone or email
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
  • Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services
  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
  • Follow-up and update customer status and information
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures

Requirements

  • Must be able to troubleshoot effectively
  • A good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products. Specifically, iPhone, iPads, and Samsung Galaxy phones as well as Dell computers.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
  • Program experience such as; Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat are preferred.
  • Must be extremely motivated which is required and expected.
  • Project work is required for server upgrades so some nights or weekends are required.

On the job training will be available for this position. There is a potential for full-time employment as positions open up. Interns will be evaluated first before looking into the general public.
