ECE Department Welcomes New Faculty Members
One member of tenure-track faculty and two visiting instructors have joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Georgia Southern University for the 21-22 academic year. These additions come on top of several years of growth of the department. The department is now with 16 faculty members, up from 13 in the previous academic year.
The new hires include visiting instructor Ali Cherid, assistant professor Reza Hamidi, and visiting instructor Tarek Kandil.
Dr. Cherid brings in over 30 years of teaching experience in the field of electrical engineering designing and implementing electrical, electronics, and control laboratory experiments.
Dr. Hamidi joins us with over 17 years of research experience from industry and academia, with particular expertise on power electronics and systems.
Dr. Kandil has 16 years of experience in teaching, research, service and consultancy for industry and community in the area of electrical engineering.
We believe that the new faculty members will provide the department’s much-needed help while experiencing massive growth. Welcome!
