Center for Engineering and Research
WHO WE ARE
The Center for Engineering and Research will be an applied research center that showcases Georgia Southern’s commitment to educating and training our state’s future engineers and computer professionals. Facilities in the Center will contribute to workforce development in modern laboratories including high-bay, rooftop and flexible spaces. The College expects to break ground for the new 127,000sf building that will house the Center (see picture at right) in December, 2018.
The Center is a multidisciplinary unit within the Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing at Georgia Southern University, and will support regional industries by providing opportunities to collaborate with engineering and computing faculty and students on research directly applicable to their current needs. All departments and programs of the College will have a presence in the building, but the primary occupant will be the new Department of Manufacturing Engineering, for which the high-bay labs are crucial.
