Professor and Chair – Search # 67642

The Department of Civil Engineering and Construction in the College of Engineering and Computing invites applications and nominations for the position of Professor and Chair. This position is located on the Statesboro campus, but may require travel to the other campuses.

Position Description: Reporting to the Dean of the College, the Chair will provide leadership for the teaching, scholarship, and service missions of the department. The Chair will advance a culture of academic excellence in which each faculty member is expected to adhere to the University’s teacher-scholar model. The Chair provides leadership for undergraduate and graduate curriculum development, assessment of student learning, accreditation, research programs, and initiatives that further the Department’s and College’s strategic plans. The Chair is also responsible for the Department’s administration and resource management as well as academic scheduling. The Chair represents the Department within the University community and builds and maintains contacts with industry, alumni and external stakeholders.

The position is a fiscal year (12 month), tenured/tenure-track appointment, and the salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
