GS Engineering Design Challenge 2018
On Saturday, April 28, Georgia Southern will host the 2018 Engineering Design Challenge to showcase the ingenuity and creativity of eight high school students teams — five from Chatham County and three from Bulloch County. The teams will design and build battery-powered, self-propelled go-karts.
The final competition will include a 15-meter sprint-to-stop race, a timed maneuvering course, a tug-of-war race and a design poster presentation with an engineering journal evaluation. Engineers from local companies will evaluate and select the winning design. The winning team will receive a cash prize.
