Dr. Rasnick was awarded a Ph.D. in International Business and Information Technology at Old Dominion University in 2016. Previous degrees earned include a Master of Business Administration in 2011 and a Master of Science in Computer Science in 2009 both from Old Dominion; and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science in 1997. Her dissertation, a study of information flow in a supply chain, investigates changes in the bullwhip effect using discrete-event analysis. Specifically, she examined what happens in a supply chain after a short term information blackout, such as those that occur due to weather or hardware failures.

Dr. Rasnick has expertise in modeling and simulation and extensive experience with live experiments. As part of a National Science Foundation funded research project, she conducted experiments on social classification over a three year period. Several papers and conference presentations were produced from this research.
