AmericasMart 2015 Internship Program Atlanta

AMC, Inc. is pleased to provide students the opportunity to participate in the AmericasMart 2015 Internship Program.  The Internship Program is designed for students to experience and manage “real-life business scenarios”. The program’s goal is to enhance student’s business acumen and to increase their professional value in the marketplace after graduation.

Founded in 1957 by world-renowned architect and developer, John C. Portman, AmericasMart is the largest wholesale marketplace of its kind. Our sprawling 7.1 million square foot, four building campus annually draws more than 235,000 attendees from around the globe to 25+ annual markets. AmericasMart also houses extensive collections of apparel product in the men’s, women’s, children’s and special occasion/formal/bridal categories – each on pace to make AmericasMart the next great fashion capital.

The internship program is offered to students who are pursuing studies in Marketing (special events & public relations), Logistics, Sales, Fashion, Hospitality and other fields.

Fall, Winter and Spring Internship is classified as college credit
Summer Internship is classified as a paid internship

The internship program is classified as paid or credit hours given as determined by curriculum. Positions are available in the following areas:

  • Digital Intern
  • Technology Services

Eligibility Criteria and Application Information 
To be eligible for an AmericasMart Internship, applicants must:

  • Be an undergraduate (declared or undeclared) or graduate student with a degree in Marketing, Customer Service, Retail, Hospitality, Sales or Event Planning (IT as well). Applicants must be enrolled in a bachelors program. Students enrolled in certificate programs are not eligible; the program in which the student is enrolled must result in a degree awarded at the conclusion of studies.
  • For undergraduate and graduate students, have a minimum 2.5 overall grade point average with a 3.0 in your major as supported by an unofficial transcript.
  • Have at least two substantive recommendation letters from a professor, advisor, previous employer (for an internship or job) and/or character reference.

About the Selection Process
Your internship application will be reviewed by an internship committee. The committee will use your entire application package to assess and select candidates for the internship program. The following weights apply

  • Resume – 20%
  • Cover Letter – 20%
  • Application Form – 20%
  • Unofficial Transcript – 20%
  • Two (2) Reference Letters – 20%

Requirements 
Students will be required to work any market show and overtime during the duration of the internship.
